Geared Hub Motor

A geared hub motor is an electric motor integrated into the hub of a wheel that utilizes gears to enhance torque output. Unlike direct drive motors, geared hub motors have a gear reduction system that allows for higher torque at lower speeds, which facilitates hill climbing and acceleration from a standstill.

Gear hub motors are commonly used in motorized wheelbarrows, motorized unicycles, heavy-duty agricultural vehicles and agricultural vehicles with encoders for four-wheel drive. They are capable of providing high torque and are ideal for traveling on hills and uneven terrain.
